Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is a multi-division department within the UNM School of Medicine. We provide excellent, innovative education to residents, medical students, and health professionals; the highest quality mental health care to the citizens of New Mexico; and pursue outstanding multidisciplinary research that helps solve important health problems.

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate and provide logistics and administrative support for the administrative team, including support for training initiatives. The Program Coordinator will collaborate with other team members, senior leadership, presenters and community partners to support project logistics, and coordinate trainings to meet project deliverables and accreditation requirements. The position involves the need for excellent tracking, reporting and attention to detail; experience with both UNM admin and CEU training processes and requirements; and working with behavioral health partners and tribal communities. Responsibilities include holding a UNM Purchasing card and following admin processes; coordinating team meetings, taking notes, archiving presentations, providing technical support to large audiences in real-time; data collection, reporting and tracking process development and database maintenance and reporting. This position will also provide coordination and support to tribal communities as requested.

The qualified candidate should have in-depth knowledge of and experience with: project coordination and logistics; familiarity with behavioral health issues and human services-related programs; culturally competent and able to work across diverse communities; Indian Health Services and work with tribal communities; establishing and maintaining positive community relationships; scheduling meetings and events; experience with UNM Purchasing; and fiscal and administrative functions. The desired candidate for this high-energy position is customer service-oriented; efficient; and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

This is a term, full-time, benefits eligible position. This position may require limited travel within New Mexico. We may hire multiple candidates for this position.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

· Demonstrated project coordination experience

· Prior UNM Purchasing card holder in good standing

· Experience providing support to teams, faculty and staff

· Experience with data collection and database management

· Experience providing technical assistance, webinar and training support

· Experience working with NM tribal communities
