The Division of Endocrinology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a term Program Coordinator to coordinate the daily administrative and fiscal operations for the UNM HSC Diabetes Research Center and work as part of a team to carry out the mission of our NIH funded grant for the closeout of a 7-year study. The employee will be required to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of our study participants, have excellent communication skills, experience with documentation, and the ability to work well with others.

The duties of the Program Coordinator's would include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Program coordination of the daily operations of the Diabetes Research Center.
  • Financial knowledge of working with grants to include: participant compensation and travel reimbursements, staff travel reimbursements, P-Card purchases (reconciliation and journal vouchers, internal purchase requisition (set up and maintenance), budget projections, and monitoring of all restricted funds.
  • Experience with Banner, Chrome River, and Lobo Mart
  • Data entry to include but not limited to: maintaining confidential participant information in data base files, study visit data entry, and maintaining data on participant scheduling calendar for reference by study team.
  • Plan and coordinate participant retention events, meetings, education sessions, and annual incentives.
  • Assist with multiple study projects and tasks as deemed necessary to fulfil the essential support of our study participants.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Banner, Chrome River, and Lobo Mart.
  • Experiencewith P-card transactions.
  • Experience with finance reconciliation and tracking expenditures.
  • Experiencemaintaining calendars and participant data.
  • Experiencegenerating budget reports and analyzing spending
  • Proficient experience with MS Excelspreadsheets and data maintenance
  • Experiencecoordinating events and meetings
