The University of New Mexico Department of Neurosciences is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our team as a Grants Coordinator.
The successful candidate will work with the department faculty, postdocs and graduate students to complete required internal and external grant forms for submissions to Federal, Foundations and Internal agencies. Position includes postaward grants management. May also assist with coordination of the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of affiliated grants assigned to one or more research and/or clinical departments of the university. Interacts with investigators and administrative staff to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements.
We are looking for an individual that is: Organized, possesses good verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and has a good knowledge of basic accounting principles. This individual must be dependable as they will serve as backup department timekeeper in the University Banner System. As well as assist with general office duties and other office duties as assigned. See below for job summary and duties and responsibilities of this position.
Coordinates the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants assigned to one or more research and/or clinical departments of the university. Interacts with investigators and administrative staff to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Provides guidance and support to investigators in the identification and development of grant opportunities.
|Conditions of Employment|
High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
· Grant or Contract Administration
· Accounting experience in higher education
· Working with granting agency pre-award forms and post award
· Project management
· UNM software applications (Banner, MyReports, LoboMart, ChromeRiver, HR Reports, LoboWeb)
· UNM purchasing requirements
· UNM PCard policies and procedures
· Access Database
· Excel, MS Word
Working knowledge and experience with:
· NIH electronic submissions : ASSIST, Commons experience
· Event Planning-organization/Catering
· NIH Agency Guidelines
