|Working Title||Financial Aid Officer|
The UNM School of Law seeks an experienced, team-oriented Financial Aid Officer to join our Admissions & Financial Aid team. This position reports to the Director, Admissions & Financial Aid at the School of Law and is assigned to work full-time at the School of Law. This position also provides remote, limited (approximately 2 - 3 hours per week) financial aid support to the UNM Anderson School of Management.
Main duties include: evaluates, approves and awards financial aid to law/graduate students in accordance with federal, state and university regulations, policies and operating guidelines; assesses financial needs of current and incoming students and advises current and prospective students regarding financial aid options, processes and requirements; conducts workshops and presentations to interested parties on financial aid policy and procedures; evaluates student academic progress as it relates to financial aid and grant requirements, and adjudicates academic progress appeals; participates as appropriate in systems/procedures planning and management; manages the collection and reporting of financial aid data; implements and coordinates specific individual programs and/or assignments, such as the allocating, updating and tracking of award data for numerous Law School tuition grants and private scholarships.
The desired applicant will possess:
|Conditions of Employment|
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Prior work experience in a higher education setting developing and coordinating financial aid package options for students, preferably at a graduate/professional school level; bachelor’s degree.
