Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Division of Human Resources offers a rewarding career opportunity for the position of Administrative Assistant 2. The successful candidate will support HR Client Services staff.

This position will be part of the administrative support team and perform a variety of administrative and staff support duties. This person may supervise student employees and oversee the offices operations. This person will provide front desk support by answering telephones, assisting visitors, and resolving a variety of administrative inquiries. This person will support the unit by maintaining various data points, conducting post audits, and maintaining databases. This position is considered a confidential employee and is not covered by the CWA Bargaining Unit.

Conditions of Employment
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should display experience in the following:

  • Scheduling appointments in Microsoft Outlook
  • Preparing reports and working with Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
  • Maintaining data in Microsoft Access databases
  • Solid written communication skills as evidenced in your cover letter
  • Experience in Banner or other Human Resource Information System
