Job Responsibilities/Competency:

  1. Performs all tasks asked by the licensed staff to help facilitate patient care on the OB
  2. Demonstrates competence in functioning as a receptionist on the OB unit and communicating with physicians, ancillary departments, patients and visitors
  3. Receives, places and transfers calls using appropriate telephone etiquette, handles telephone information requests with courtesy and accuracy
  4. Performs job tasks thoroughly and consistently
  5. Completes all birth records according to state recommendations
  6. Demonstrates an ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations
  7. Answers call lights when indicated
  8. Knowledgible with the infant security system and participatees in the coordination of care with the infant security system
