POSITION PURPOSE:

The Environmental Services Coordinator assists the Manager of Environmental Services in the day to day operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Genuine interest in maintaining a good working relationship with employees, managers and administration.  Able to operate such general office machines as a personal computer, FAX and photocopier.  This individual should be proficient in computer software applications that include word processing and spreadsheets (MSWord and Excel). The incumbent must have a high level of interpersonal skills to coordinate the functions of the environmental services department. The position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Work requires attention to detail in composing, typing, data entry and proofing materials; establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. This person must have good oral and written communication skills. The coordinator position must be able to make many decisions independently and be able to determine when problems or decisions should be brought to the Manager of Environmental Services.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

The Environmental Services Coordinator position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrated leadership ability. At least three years experience in a hospital environmental services department is required with five years preferred.
