I. Job Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for checking incoming shipments to make sure that they include the appropriate items and that each item is undamaged, record and sign for shipments, unload trucks and/or organize the items that they unload. The Receiving Clerk is also responsible for distributing them timely to the appropriate location/department.

I. Job Responsibilities

* Greet all guests encountered on the property.
* Efficiently follow the orders of the Director of Security and report to the same.
* Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
* Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
* Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
* Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
* Routes items to departments.
* Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
* Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
* Ensure guest confidentiality and security.
* Report anything that is suspicious to security immediately.
* Report anything that might be considered a safety hazard to a supervisor or correct the issue on the spot. Leave golf cart clean and plugged in at the end of the shift.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education High school degree or GED

Skills and Experience (Essential)

* At least 18 years of age
* Valid US State Driver's license or an international driver's license
* Knowledge of computers
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
* Possess a good command of the English language and ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests, both in person and by telephone

Skills and Experience (Preferred)

* Previous experience in hotel receiving
