Admissions Assistant - GlenBrook Health Center

Salary/Hourly Rate:$15.00 - $16.00 Per Hour
GlenBrook Health Center is currently hiring a full time Admissions Coordinator. This position includes some weekends. The Admissions Coordinator arranges admissions to Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living, and markets the facility to prospective residents and/or their representatives.
  • Coordinates admissions to skilled nursing. Obtains insurance benefit verifications, authorizations, including Medicare/HMO/PPO eligibility. Notifies all appropriate departments of the pending admission, prepares the admission packet, completes data entry into the computer system, and requests needed documents from resident or resident representative prior/upon admission. 

  • Completes the admission contract in accordance with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and the established policies and procedures in a timely manner. Notifies each department with their required information. Confirms Advance Directive has been requested, copies of insurance documents, and that resident is informed as to their rights about medical decisions and privacy. Ensures resident was provided documentation of the Admission Agreement and charts all required forms in resident medical record. 

  • For assisted living, gathers preadmission documentation as needed and provides information packet to potential resident. Coordinates admission and processes all required documentation in a timely manner. Inputs admission information into computer system once resident moves in. Charts all completed documents in resident chart as needed.

  • Promotes and markets the health center to prospective residents and/or their representatives, giving tours, and obtaining information with which to make informed decision about the appropriateness of the resident. Assists the Director of Admissions as needed with marketing events.

 Requirements: 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology essential.
  • Experience dealing with clients in a customer service-based business or marketing required. 
  • Prior experience in medical setting such as physician?s office, hospital or nursing home preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and HMO regulations preferred.
  • High school diploma. Some college or technical schooling preferred.
